![]() ![]() We like to walk so we used the stairs a lot. There is only one elevator which you had to wait for and was smaller. Bathrooms have been updated and new carpet in the rooms. This is a historic hotel that has had a face lift. The one that faced the back had a tiny bathroom and shower, but they were both updated and clean. The ocean facing room was much larger with a big bathroom and a floor that sloped down at an angle. One faced the water and the other looked at the street out back. We went with another couple and had two different types of rooms. This was a pre-cruise stay for us out of the Dover cruise terminal. ![]() On a separate note, we ate in MPW’s restaurant where Belinda was fantastic and the food was utterly delicious. We explained and he was firstly confused (we showed him the upgrade confirmation) and then angry that we had been told there was a “glitch” he was very apologetic, said he didn’t understand and apologised some more. ![]() At check out Mayer - I think his name was - started by trying to charge us for the upgrade. The double was in one of “attic” rooms and as such, was only accessible from one side due to the angle or the wall! Not happy. The bed was a small double and in fact we would have been better with the original twin room. When we reached the room, we were disappointed. My husband showed Gary the confirmation email, but he just repeated that there had been a glitch in the system! I was left feeling rather second rate as the large group of very attractive youngsters in front of us seemed to have been more successful? Gary - after some encouragement from us, offered us a double room “for no extra charge” and we accepted. When we showed this confirmation of the upgrade to Gary at reception, he informed us that there had been a “glitch” in the system and we were unable to receive the upgrade. We explained that we had made a bid for a room upgrade and we were informed that we had been successful. We were unlucky as we arrived just after a large party had booked in. Sure will visit and hope will meet Mayur again.xxįabulous restaurant - shame about the reservation “glitch” I loved my overall stay at this hotel, but all staff are helpful and kind in nature, After having wonderful experience either in good or bad sense was good. we didn't except a man with full of knowledge, he was loyal to the hotel, we offered him to work with us, he declined. We came down later on for smoke, had a chat with Mayur. But later that rainy started and small leak in our room but Night staff Mayur rescued us out of that room, and transferred to other one. There is only one lift for the entire hotel, but checked in into our room. Great location and the bonus of being able to drop off bags right near reception and get a free parking permit. First finding the hotel was a task as we couldn't be able to find a sign of hotel, anyhow we reached. but the staff of this property are from mixed cultural. We have been staying more than 3 years with each BW Properties. We never been to such hotel where humans really care for their guest. ![]()
